On 3 September 2021, staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve joined an all-Russia action “A drop of life” dedicated to the Day of solidarity in the fight against terrorism.
The Day of solidarity in fight against terrorism is timed to the tragic events, which took place on the first days of September 2004 in Beslan.
On 1 September, in school №1 of Beslan terrorists captured and held 1128 hostages during three days. 330 people died. 186 children were among them. The smallest of the dead was 6 months old.
In Beslan, there was the most catastrophic terrorist attack in contemporary Russian and world history. Terrorists committed a really perfect murder – ruthless, in front of everyone, in the crosshairs of cameras. This time, children became victims. Blackened ruins of the school in Beslan were a terrible monument to human cruelty and human suffering.
In memory of the victims of Beslan who were in prison during three days and could not drink a drop of water, through the action “A drop of life” we symbolically gave to drink to all those who are no longer with us. Every participant of the event with a little water in his palms, to the memory of all innocent victims, watered flowers that grow on the territory of the museum-reserve.
