From 24 to 29 May 2021, XXI All-Russian numismatic conference took place in Tver in celebration of the 155th anniversary of the Tver museum.
All-Russian numismatic conferences have been held since 1993. Today they are the biggest events in the world of numismatics in our country. Their theme includes relevant issues of numismatics of all historical periods, bonistics, medal art, sigillography, heraldry, phaleristics and the history of science.
As part of a cultural program, the guests of the conference drew attention to the exhibition in Gorkovka devoted to a local historian and numismatist Mikhail Rubtsov from Tver. He worked with a local museum for a long time. The guests also visited the exhibition “Tver hoards”. They had a tour of the Pushkin places in Bernovo and went to Staritsky local history museum.
The report of I. D. Muhametshin “The hoard of Bulgar coins of XV century from Big Atryasy” was about the treasure of Big Atryasy kept in Bolgar Museum-Reserve. It characterizes the development of Bolgar vilayat in the beginning of XV century. Each speaker received a memorable gift – a souvenir coin with the image of Tver pool.
It was no accident that Tver was chosen as a place to hold the conference. Coins were among the first exhibits of the Tver museum. Now in its collection, there is the richest in Tverskaya oblast numismatic collection including almost 50,000 units of storage: domestic and foreign coins, paper money, domestic and foreign bonds, lottery tickets, stock, orders and crosses, service medals, awarding medals, plaquettes, seals and stamps, postmarks and many other things.
