On 19 May 2021, a research associate of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Muhametshin I. D. held a knowledge event on “Opening the pages of the past” for the students of the 6th grade of Bolgar comprehensive school №2.
Schoolchildren became acquainted with the main sights of Bolgar. Walking along the “khan’s path” they knew the names of great rulers who lived in Bolgar and ruled in the Golden Horde. On the playground, it was possible to learn about the Bulgars’ games – “mill” and chess and to see the Red chamber – one of Bulgars’ bathhouses.
In the museum “Healer’s house”, kids knew about the development of medicine in the middle ages and saw the instruments used in ancient times. Herbs, bones and belemnites were actively used for the preparation of ointments and medicines. In many cities, scientists lived whose names were famous beyond Bulgaria. A house of one of them was excavated in Bolgar. Spherocones, a mortar with a pestle, belemnites and other specific things telling about his craft were found there. The students with interest acquainted themselves with the life of Bulgar doctor.
Visit to the monuments of ancient town left kids a lot of impressions and positive emotions.
