On 7 May 2021, in the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. held an information-entertaining event on “Bright Easter” for Bolgar students.
Easter is one of the main Christian church holidays for Russian and the world’s believers. Celebration of Lord’s Resurrection has its own centuries-old traditions and customs. Easter has many names: “Lord’s Resurrection”, “Bright or Holy Easter”, “Easter of Christ”. Its celebration in Russia is characterized by a huge number of interesting traditions, customs and ceremonies preserved to the present day from ancient times.
During the event, the students became acquainted with the history of this holiday, knew the meaning of the word “Easter”, learned about traditions accompanying the celebration of Easter in Russia. Children actively answered the questions of a quiz, with great interest participated in folk games that were held at Easter in the old days in Russia. At the end, all participants received sweets and a colored egg – a symbol of Bright Easter and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
