On 15-17 April 2021, staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve took part in the Interregional museum forum “National museum: 100 years in the history of Chuvashia” and in the General meeting of Council of Museums of the Volga federal district in Cheboksary.
The Council of Museums of the Volga federal district was established in 2016 in order to coordinate activities of the museum community of the Volga federal district and to organize its cooperation with municipal and public authorities, with voluntary associations. More than 60 museums are included in it. Over the years, the General meeting took place in Ulyanovsk, Kazan, Saransk and Nizhny Novgorod.
The Interregional museum forum was divided into four platforms where discussions, lectures, roundtables were held. They touched important issues on museum activity in modern conditions. Much attention is paid to the formation of public spaces that is why museums should work and develop their unique mechanisms in the new format.
During the forum, our staff members participated in the work of a roundtable where they addressed issues that arise during inspections on the part of control and oversight service of the Department of the Ministry of Culture for the Volga federal district.
In the discussion “Hospitability in the museum as a new standard of work with visitors”, staff members shared their experience gained in Bolgar Museum-Reserve and noted some new aspects of other museums.
A meeting of museum workers in such a format is an important cultural event providing exchange of experience and occupational mobility, and new aspects of interaction of museums with each other open there.
