On 17 December 2020, staff members of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N. R. and Glavnova V. N. held an interactive and knowledge event on “Arabic ligature is music for eyes” for the students of Bolgar cadet boarding school named after Karpov P. A.
This event was devoted to the International Day of the Arabic language. On that day in 1973, the UN General Assembly included the Arabic language in the number of official and working languages of the United Nations believing that this initiative would strengthen intercultural dialogue and develop a multilingual world.
During the event, children knew the history of the development and some interesting peculiarities of the Arabic language. Kids became familiar with the exposition of the Museum of Koran and got a sense of the culture of the Arab world, with which Volga Bulgars established close relations. Children also saw the largest printed Koran in the world listed in the Guinness Book of Records. At the lesson, the students participated in games and had a master class of the Arabic graphics “The town of Bolgar”.
