On 13 December 2020, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V. N. held an event on “Mysteries of Ancient Bolgar” for the students of Kazan school.
Volga Bulgars are a legendary and mysterious nation, which preserved and developed a thousand years old culture, traditions and language. Volga Bulgaria was one of the largest medieval states of East Europe, and its inhabitants were creators of medieval civilization. In the context of a historical and cultural understanding, the town of Bolgar contains multilayered and voluminous information. It is a very important spiritual center for all our country, which is of particular importance to the followers of Islam and to the whole Islamic Ummah.
The students became familiar with the museum exposition telling about the history of Volga Bulgaria. On the example of artifacts, they knew about archaeological research on the territory of the town. During the event, schoolchildren actively participated in a quiz “Guess an item” and in an interactive game “Mysteries of Great Bolgar”. The kids answered the questions, showed their knowledge on the subject and got involved in the historical past of the native land. Children received many positive emotions and expanded their horizons. Because bright impressions of the history of homeland, which are received as children, remain in human memory forever.
At the end of the activity, the kids got souvenirs painted with their own hands.
