On 11 December 2020, a staff member of the department “Museum Street” of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova G. Y. held a museum video class on “A. F. Lihachyov is a famous ethnographer” devoted to a well-known ethnographer, historian and numismatist A. F. Lihachyov.
The bloodline of the ancient noble family of Lihachyov was presented to the guests of the site. Many representatives of this family were excited about the old and collecting. This passion was passed on from generation to generation, beginning with the ancestor of that branch Lihachyov Login Ivanovich. During the lesson, a blood brother of Andrey Fyodorovich Lihachyov – Ivan Fyodorovich Lihachyov – was also mentioned. He was Vice Admiral of the Russian fleet. I. F. Lihachyov also was a collector and a member of the Russian Geographical Society. After the death of his brother Andrey Fyodorovich, Ivan purchased all his collection of Bolgar antiquities and his personal scientific archive from his widow. Ivan Fyodorovich donated all this material to Kazan, and the city made him an honorary citizen. The collection gathered by Andrey Fyodorovich during all his life became the basis for the creation of the Kazan City Museum. Later, it was included in the funds of the Kazan National Museum.
