On 9 December 2020, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Glavnova V. N. held a lecture on “Heroes of the Fatherland” for the students of Bolgar special boarding school for children with limited opportunities.
To keep the memory of each hero in our hearts, there is a special date on the calendar of Russian holidays – 9 December. It is the Day of Heroes of the Fatherland. It is customary to remember about their feats all the time, not only on special holidays. These people are no different from others but they did real things not everyone would dare to do. Regardless of what time it was (peace or war) there always were people who could neglect their own interests and life to save others.
During the lecture, the students became acquainted with the history of emergence of the holiday, found out the meaning of the word “winner”, heard the names of Russian heroes and honored the memory of the dead.
