Staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve continue to conduct a course of lectures and presentations in order to introduce the students of Bolgar Islamic academy to the history and activities of ancient Bolgar and the museum-reserve.
On 1 December 2020, staff members of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Ahundov N. O. and Mukhamedov V. A. held a lecture on “Famous people in Bolgar” for the students of the academy.
In more than thousand years of the existence of the capital of Volga Bulgaria, princes of Ancient Russia, khans of the Golden Horde and rulers of the Russian Empire visited this place. The lecture tells about people whose names and fates were linked to Bolgar land. For example, Ibn Fahdlan, Peter I, Katherine II, Gabriel Derzhavin were among them, as well as a galaxy of Russian artists, religious figures and politicians whose work relates directly or indirectly to the town of Bolgar.
