On 14 November 2020, a research associate of the museum and educational department of Bolgar Museum-Reserve S. V. Krivosheyeva held an interactive lesson on “Traditions of respect” for the students of the 2nd grade of Bolgar sanatorium-type residential school. The event was devoted to World Kindness Day.
The worldwide movement of kindness initiated appearance of this day. This organization works globally and inspires people to do good things. Russia joined the celebration on 13 November 2009.
Kindness is what a deaf person can see and hear (M. Twain). Life is for doing good works. A person is born and he lives on earth to do good to people. Humanity is diverse. There are many nations and nationalities on planet Earth. People have different colors of skin, different modes of living and their own culture formed for centuries. Traditions and customs are a specificity of each people. Sometimes it is possible to recognize a person’s nationality only by his customs. To reach an understanding with a man we need to listen to him and respect his traditions. Traditions of respect laid by our parents help us to be kinder and more generous to people. There is a small sun inside all of us – kindness. A kind person is who loves nature and preserves it, loves people and helps them. Kindness is the ability to feel joy and pain of another man as personal. Each of us likes when someone loves and waits for us, understands and takes us. It is nice when there is no longing, boredom and loneliness around but we have smiles, light and friendship.
At the lesson, the students discussed how it is essential to keep traditions of respect. There are situations in life when a person tries to put himself ahead of others. Then communicative connections between people are violated, that is it is hard to talk to a man like that. It is important to remember that respectful attitude towards each other underlies any collective, friendship and love. If you want people to respect you, you should respect others. At the event, the kids built a house called “kindness” and remembered what bricks this notion consists of.
