On 13 November 2020, a staff member of the department “Museum Street” of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Sagirova G. Y. held a museum video class on “A tree holds on to its roots, and a man – to his family. A family tree of A. Alish”.
With respect to a family tree of Alish, it can be noted that his ancestors had pedigree connections with famous religious personnel. It was the families of Kulmametov from the village Old Salmany of Alkeevsky district, Tardzhemanov from Andzheri, Ishakov from Chistopol, Mushtari from Indirchi and others.
The continuer of the family line of Alish – Gataulla Almeti – married a daughter of Imam Tardzheman al Andzheri Shafkizade from the village Old Andzheri. Nurulla – a grandfather of Abdulla Alish – was born of this marriage. In the 1860s, he moved to the village Kayuki of Spassky uyezd and settled there. For a long time, he was an Ishan of a local mosque. Nurulla and his wife lived long. They brought up four sons and a daughter and gave them a good upbringing and education. All the sons studied at Kazan madrassas and knew the Russian language. At the end of XIX century, a notion “surname” appeared, and they took the surname of Alishev in honor of a founder of the bloodline – Alish (Alishah).
Each of the family members of Alish knew perfectly well their family tree, their ancestors, beginning with Alish – Almet – Surmat – Ibrahim – Zagfar – Gubaidulla – Nigmatulla – Gataulla – Nurulla.
An educator Shigabutdin Mardzhani in his book lists eight ancestors, and the family tree of Alishev ends with the name of Gataulla. The book also describes all members of this bloodline, where they studied, what they were and in what field they worked. There is also a record of their children. There is an information about those who memorized a sacred book of Koran (Gubaidulla Kizlyavi, Rahmatulla, Nigmatulla and others).
Nurulla hazrat continued the bloodline of Alishev. His three sons – Gabdulhak, Gayaz and Ziya – became the members of the clergy. Gabdulbari – a father of Abdulla Alish – was engaged in farming. During four years, he served in the military as an orderly in the tsarist army. After serving, Gabdulbari married Gaziza from the village New Chelny of Alkeevsky district. At first, all their babies died. Only a daughter Zakirya out of five children did not die. The parents grieved that there was no continuer of the family. When Abdulla was born, there was no end to joy!
