On 5 November 2020, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Rogachyova M. N. held an interactive event on “The holiday of “inconspicuous” soldiers” for the students of the 6th-7th grades of Bolgar cadets’ boarding school after Karpov P. A. The activity held with the purpose of patriotic civic education of schoolchildren was devoted to the Day of a military intelligence officer.
On the territory of modern Russia, military intelligence appeared at the beginning of XIX century. Despite a long history of the development in Russia, the holiday devoted to intelligence officers was established only on 12 October 2000 by order of the Minister of RF. It is celebrated on 5 November every year since the creation of military intelligence.
At the event held in the form of conversation with the screening of a presentation, the students learned about the history of the holiday and the profession of a military intelligence officer. They became acquainted with the names of famous Soviet special-service agents and heard about one of them – N. I. Kuznetsov who was an outstanding Soviet spy.
During the event, cadets participated in a game program “Young scouts” where they tried their hand as intelligence officers. The kids split into groups and did various tasks with great interest. They showed their knowledge, savvy, marksmanship and mindfulness. At the end, the winning team received small prizes.
