On 4 November 2020, in the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N. R. held a master class on “Ornament is a soul of a nation” for the guests of the museum’ site.
During the activity, visitors knew about quilling – art form, which is fairly common in today’s world. This kind of creativity is also known as paper twisting when flat and volumetric compositions are made of long and narrow strips of paper twisted in a spiral form. On the example of quilling, we tried to introduce the guests to some specificities of Tatar national ornament.
At the end of the event, visitors saw an example of making a postcard with the elements of Tatar ornament in technique of quilling.
It is known that any form of creativity, including quilling, enriches a person’s interior spiritually, has a positive effect on his emotional state and provides energy and vitality.
