On 4 November 2020, in the exhibition area of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization the head of the department of exhibition activity of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Paramonycheva T. N. opened an exhibit “Tatar ornament in folk art”. Tatar folk ornament is bright and original. It is a basis of creative arts of peoples reflecting a complicated history of formation and development of nation’s culture and art, life and faith. Tatar ornament began to spread widely during the ancient agricultural era, which started long before the formation of Volga Bulgaria.
In modern art, Tatar ornament is revealed as a particular language, which expresses the peoples’ vision. Influence of Islam on the development of ornament and on its reflection in creativity is seen very well.
At the exhibition, ornament is presented in various forms of art – ceramics, embroidery, weaving, leather mosaic, jewelry art, woodcarving and calligraphy. All of them clearly reflect the high level of national traditions in art, which today requires its continuing in the works of artists and masters.
The exhibition will last until 7 December 2020.
