On 23 October 2020, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Galimullina N. R. held for Bolgar students an event on “Nobody is forgotten – nothing is forgotten”.
This date was established in memory of a joint hunger strike of the prisoners of Mordovian and Permian camps. On 30 October 1974, political prisoners announced it in protest at political oppression in USSR and the degrading and inhuman treatment of political prisoners in prisons and camps. This day was formalized by a decision of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR from 18 October 1991 “On establishing the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions” in accordance with the law “On the Rehabilitation of Victims of Political Repressions”.
During the activity, children learned about difficult times of our country in the early 20th century and knew about the lives of famous persons and ordinary people who came under political repressions. Statistically, there were many dead and injured for the whole country, in Tatarstan and in Spassky district of RT.
At the end of the event, kids made of paper red carnations as a symbol of remembrance.
