On 26 and 27 September 2020, the seventh festival of medieval battle “Great Bolgar” took place. On the platform “Fighting pit”, visitors knew about the teams, their major victories and the main activities of historical clubs. During two days of the festival, maneuvers of early middle ages, one-on-one fights and massive battles were held. For the first time on the festival “Great Bolgar”, the art of historical fencing was demonstrated on the platform “Nema”. In addition to knight’s fighting, historical fair and master classes on medieval crafts from the leading reenactors of Russia took place on the territory of the town of Bolgar. The festival attracted a lot of talented people from different parts of our country: potters, weavers, blacksmiths, musicians, singers and many others. It was possible to try one’s hand at javelin throwing, archery and making medieval jewelry on the platform called “Volga Bulgaria”. The guests of the event became acquainted with the history of ancient state. On a separate platform, the concerts with groups El Mental, Alkonost, Teufelstanz, Broken Dronez and Level Up, dance master classes and theatrical performances took place.
A family platform was also organized where parents could spend time without leaving their children. Participants could go through the hay-bale maze, pass the relay race, and take part in creative master classes, contests and competitions.
During two days of the festival, more than 20 thousand guests visited the ancient town of Bolgar.
