On 15 August 2020, a staff member of the Department of Guided Tours Organization of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Salimova G. I. held an information event devoted to the Day of archaeologist.
The Day of archaeologist falls on the field season, and most people celebrate it on expeditions. On that day, “dedication to archaeologists” is often held for those who participates in the expedition for the first time.
Archaeology gives us an opportunity to look into a very distant past. In museums, we can see different household items preserved since ancient times and found by archaeologists. Hard work of archaeologists clearly deserves great respect and own holiday. Archaeologists’ findings help historians to establish or confirm various historical events.
On the Day of archaeologist, tours of monuments and the dig sites are held; exhibitions devoted to archaeology open in museums; presentations of specialized works, conferences and symposia are also held in conjunction with this date.
During the event, tourists became familiar with characteristics of the profession of archaeologist.
