On August 14, 2020, an employee of the department for organizing excursions of the Bulgarian Museum-Reserve O.A. Gaifutdinova held an information and educational event for tourists from Nurlat and Almetyevsk on the theme “First Savior – Savior of Honey”.
In Russia at the end of the summer, people celebrated harvest festivals – Honey, Apple and Nut Spas. People gathered many gifts of nature storing them for a long winter. The festivals were also celebrated as farewell to summer.
The day of Honey Spas also had another name – Macovei, because on that day in old times it was a tradition to gather poppy. On Honey Spas, there were many things to do – for example, collecting peas, harvesting of forest raspberry. On the first Spas, swallows and swifts fly to warm lands because summer in their native land comes to an end for them. Last time of the year on Honey Spas, people washed their animals in the river and gazed at the sunset.
The guests of the museum-reserve became acquainted with the history of emergence of the holiday Honey Spas, took part in a quiz and actively answered the questions.
