On 19 June 2020, staff members of Bolgar Museum-Reserve Muhametshin D. G. and Muhametshin I. D. held an event on “Bolgar tea party” for the participants of the club “The University of the Third Age”. This activity was devoted to the traditions of Bolgar tea culture. It took place in specially equipped place on Gabdrakhman’s well.
At all times, people honored water sources and looked for a comfortable place by the water before settling. Underground sources were considered to be a gift of the higher power and had sacramental functions. The members of the club listened to a story about traditions of Tatar people. A creative discussion was accompanied by drinking tea from traditional samovars. Water from the holy spring quenches thirst, strengthens a soul and gives energy for the day.
At the end of the event, the guests received wall calendars with images of Bolgar architectural monuments. The tea party gave the participants a charge of positive and good mood.
