On 8 June 2020, there will be a video class entitled “The seventh in the alphabet” devoted to the most invisible letter of modern Russian alphabet suffering forever and all the time dropping out of sight of writers, scientists and ordinary men – the letter “Ё”. Really, a fate of which other letter was Joseph Stalin dealing with? What other letter of our alphabet is waiting for a Government Resolution on its fate? Finally, which other letter has the exact birth date and its own high-level godmother?
“Ё” is gravitas, wealth of shades and intonations. During the event, the audience will become familiar with the history of its appearance in the alphabet, the vicissitudes of approval in the writing and its significance in the Russian language. The event is dedicated to the Russian Language Day celebrated on 6 June each year, on the day of the birth of a great poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin and intended to preserve accumulated cultural heritage of Russia.
