On 5 June 2020, an interactive and knowledge event on “Culture of Tatar tea party in the Volga region” took place in the museum “Bolgar tea party” where Tatar national food and sugary treats were presented to the audience.
There are many legends about hospitality of Tatars. For Tatar family guests are honored, respectable people. From ancient times, Tatars are very attentive, caring and polite to their guests. They try to set the table with taste and treat abundantly with different food.
At the time of Volga Bulgaria and Golden Horde, a culture of feast and preparing drinks from various herbs was typical around here. In the words of Tatar popular sayings, “If there is no treat for your guest, give him a gentle word”, “If you are treated, drink even water”.
Customs of hospitality are transmitted from generation to generation. They firmly entered daily life and in the minds of different peoples, they are seen as something adequate, as an essential part of culture.
Visit each other, try to be open-minded and friendly. Because the most important thing is not a meal but having a good time with the special people in your life who, as is known, keeps the peace.
