On 1 June 2020, staff members of Bolgar museum-reserve held an information and knowledge event on “Children are our future” with a master class “Bolgar ceramics” devoted to International Children’s Day.
Children’s Day is one of the oldest international holidays, which is celebrated on the first summer day around the world since 1950. People always celebrate this holiday with various activities in order to draw attention to the situation of the children worldwide.
At the event, it was revealed that Bolgar museum-reserve always prioritizes its work with young audiences. The museum uses different activities for the proper rearing of the younger generation and improving children’s historical knowledge, for building their understanding, respect and love for the history of the country, native land and its cultural heritage. Throughout the year, staff members of the museum-reserve hold excursions adapted for children’s groups, interactive events, lectures, museum lessons, meetings and debates, training programs and different master classes. Children visit craft workshops where they learn about handicrafts and through the experience of master artisans, become involved in popular culture and ancestral traditions. At this event, a potter presented his master class in pottery.
