On 25 May 2020, a thematic virtual excursion “The craft of Volga Bulgars” was held in the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization.
Since ancient times, the degree of development of crafts was an indicator of the level of the state’s development. It was in the craft that people’s cultural traditions, mythology, beliefs and art were reflected brightly.
During our excursion, the audience had the opportunity to become acquainted with the craft of Volga Bulgars. An idea of handicraft production with all of the known industries was an important element of Bulgar society. A strong growth of trade relations and economy contributed to the development of Volga Bulgars’ craft. The museum exhibits fully reflects a high level of development of artisan traditions of Volga Bulgaria.
