On 21 May 2020, Tatarstan traditionally celebrates another anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars.
In memory of the momentous occasion, an event will take place in the museum-exhibition complex “The Memorial Sign in honor of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922” where visitors will get familiar with the exposition of “The Museum of Koran”. They will see a unique Koran registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest printed version and learn how the ancestors of modern Tatars – ancient Bulgars – adopted Islam as the state religion about 1100 years ago. The guests will see an amazing mosaic panel made by Italian masters. In its subject, the great event is artistically depicted.
During the activity, the visitors will learn about the history, culture, traditions of the people and the basics of Islam, which came to Bulgarian land in the beginning of X century.
