On 27-28 February 2020, in the assembly hall of the Institute of Archaeology named by A. H. Halikov of Academy of Sciences of RT the opening of final scientific conference took place. A research associate of Bolgar Museum-Reserve I. D. Mukhametshin participated in it.
The conference was organized by the Institute of Archaeology named by A. H. Halikov together with Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University. 58 scientists-archaeologists took part in the work of the conference. Among them, there were 48 staff members of the Institute and representatives of scientific centers of the Russian Federation (Astrakhan, Samara, Tolyatti, and Cheboksary) and further afield (Germany, Mongolia) who actively cooperate with archaeologists of Tatarstan.
During the conference, the participants discussed relevant issues connected with the preservation of archaeological heritage; holding complex interdisciplinary research works; restoration methods and techniques; specificities of reception and recording of archaeological collections, and organizing scientific expeditions. The great significance was given to the research of the town of Bolgar and protective and relief works in the area of the Kuibyshev Reservoir. The summary of this work was announced at the conference in October 2019.
On 28 February 2020, a scientific seminar “Urban culture of Turkic-Tatar population of Eurasia” took place. It was based on the results of the State programs of RT “Preservation of national identity of Tatars in 2014-2021” and “Holding of historical and archaeological studies of medieval Turkic-Tatar towns beyond the borders of the Republic of Tatarstan”. Invited researchers recognized the high scientific quality of the reports, good organization and creativity-inspiring atmosphere, effectiveness and success of the scientific event.
