On 30 January 2020, a film crew “Public Television of Russia” visited Bolgar Museum-Reserve.
A program called “Big country” of TV channel of PTR acquaints its viewers with the most important processes and tendencies in Russian regions. It is a program about people and events, the present and the past.
In the round of the program, the television channel prepares a special report called “The Great Bolgar. A mystery of disappeared country”. Its purpose is to tell viewers about the monuments of medieval Muslim architecture, unique examples of Bolgar-Tatar architecture of XIII-XIV centuries testifying to disappeared states of the Volga Bulgaria and the Golden Horde.
The production team visited the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization, filmed in the Memorial Sign in honor of adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgars in 922, in the Cathedral Mosque of the medieval town and in other architectural monuments. In their report correspondents reflected modern tourist facilities on the territory of the museum-reserve. Interactive craft workshops on making pottery, weaving from rod and painting of souvenirs were of particular importance for the group.
Staff members of the museum-reserve accompanied correspondents, participated in the filming process, took the group on a tour, acquainted with the unique museum items, and gave an interview.
Airing of the report is planned for the end of February-the beginning of March of 2020.
