On January 27, 2020, staff members of the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization T. G. Zarifullina and V. A. Salnikova held an information and knowledge event on “Days and nights of besieged Leningrad” for the students of the 10th grade of Bolgar Comprehensive School №1. The event was devoted to the Day of Military Honor of Russia.
January 27, 1944 is the date of complete lifting of the German-fascist blockade of Leningrad. On 8 September 1941, Leningrad was totally blockaded by German troops from the land. The siege of Leningrad began, and it lasted almost 900 days. What was it – 900 days? It meant nearly 3 years of suffering, hunger, cold, bombing, shelling and death.
Children became acquainted with one of the heroic pages of our history – events connected with besieged Leningrad, with the meaning of the word “siege”. With interest and a sense of compassion, pride for resilience of our peoples, students watched a documentary “900 days of courage”. The event ended with an excursion in the Museum of Bulgarian Civilization.
