On December 24, 2019, an employee of the Department for organizing excursions of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve Akhundov N. O. held a lecture on “New year’s mood” for students of grades 5, 6 and 8 of the Bulgarian sanatorium boarding school.
A magical New Year… Its expectation is the expectation of a fairy tale, a new stage of life, new beginnings. And this beautiful feeling is subject to both children and adults. This extraordinary day is one of the most significant of the year, without exaggeration the biggest holiday. And to really understand why all this new year’s eve fuss, these elegant people, generous tables, sparkling Christmas trees and garlands, it is worth knowing the history of this holiday. The story of the New Year is especially important for children who are looking forward to it and are always open to new knowledge. Having learned the history of this celebration, children will prepare for it with even greater trepidation and wait for the very miracle that we all want to believe in… for Sure, this is also the most favorite holiday of children. After my birthday, of course. But the birthday is a personal holiday of the birthday boy, and the new year’s euphoria covers all around, soars in the air, so this night seems so fabulous.
At the lecture, the children got acquainted with the history of their favorite holiday, learned about the customs and traditions associated with the New Year, and how it is celebrated in different countries of the world. Students showed interest in this topic, actively answered questions and asked their own.
