On September 12, 2019, a researcher of the Department of Museum and educational activities of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve Krivosheeva S. V. held an interactive event on the theme “the Seventh in the alphabet” for grade 5 students in the Bulgarian sanatorium boarding school.
At this event, the children learned about the history of the letter “E”, as well as six interesting facts about its origin. This letter is pronounced by everyone, but almost no one writes.
“E” is the youngest letter in our alphabet. Russian Russian letter, because it reflects on the letter phenomenon that has arisen in the Russian colloquial speech.
“E” came up with Princess Dashkova, not Karamzin as mistakenly believed earlier, although it first appeared in his books.
November 29 is considered to be the birthday of the letter “e”. On this occasion, “Leider” recalls facts from the history associated with the most ambiguous letter of the Russian alphabet.
In 2005, a monument dedicated to the letter “e”appeared. It was installed in Ulyanovsk (former Simbirsk – the birthplace of Karamzin) by the decision of the city hall. The monument is a triangular prism of granite, which is embossed with a lowercase “e”.
At the end of the event, children made crafts with their own hands, starting with the letter “E”; remembered words containing two or even three letters “e” in one word.
