March 21, 2019 for students of grade 5 of the BULGARIAN sanatorium boarding school Spassky municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan employee of the Department of excursions BGIAMZ Rogacheva M. N. a lecture on “Bolgar – the city of masters” was held to develop their love and respect for the history of their native land and the cultural heritage of the Republic of Tatarstan, to expand the historical knowledge of children.
At the lecture, which took place in the form of a conversation, the students got acquainted with the crafts of the ancient city of Bolgar. The children, actively participating in the conversation and asking questions, learned a lot about the history of Bulgarian crafts: the work of metallurgists, methods of melting metals, blacksmithing, as well as what groups were divided blacksmiths. They also heard the story about the work of master-carvers, tanners, coppersmiths and brosilicate. The students got acquainted with the peculiarities of pottery production, construction business, different ways and forms of work of Bulgarian masters of jewelry and were surprised by the variety and beauty of their products.
At the presentation, containing photos of numerous archaeological finds from the Bulgarian settlement and clearly revealing the theme of the development of crafts in the ancient city of Bulgaria, students were able to see a wide variety of working tools, learned about their purpose and application, and looked at the products themselves Bulgarian masters. We listened to ancient legends, legends related to Bulgarian artisans. At the end of the conversation, the children with great passion solved a crossword puzzle on the theme of the Bulgarian jewelry craft, and were able to see and even try on jewelry made of copper by a modern master – imitation of Bulgarian jewelry.
