25 January 2019 the head of Department of Museum and educational activities of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve Vagapov R. Z. conducted the informational-educational lesson, “the particular relationship to food in the global culture” for students of the COLLEDGE “Spassky College of industrial technologies”.
Food-this is what accompanies a person all his life from the first to the last day, without which he basically can not live. Nevertheless, for many millennia mankind has turned this necessity into a deeply revered, even cult element of its existence and development. Even in ancient times Socrates claimed that”bad people live in order to eat and drink, virtuous people eat and drink in order to live.”
During the lesson, students learned how to change the attitude to food in different historical periods in different parts of the world, what impact migration processes, wars, epidemics had on it. Special attention was paid to the attitude to food in the traditions of the Tatar people and other peoples of The middle Volga region. Also students got acquainted with the first objects of public catering in the history of mankind from an Inn to a restaurant, about the first enterprises of the food industry.
