On January 22, 2019, the head of the Department of Museum and educational activities of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve Vagapov R. Z. held an interactive lesson “Ornament-the key to the past” for activists Of the children’s district Duma of the MBOU TO the “House of children’s creativity” of the Spassky municipal district of Tatarstan.
Ornament (lat. ornamentum “decoration”) – a pattern based on the repetition and alternation of its constituent elements; intended for decoration of various items (utensils, tools and weapons, textiles, furniture, etc.). Ornament is the frozen magic of eternal rhythms. It is woven from stylized symbols that encode human relationships, the whole world and ideas about it, about life, about death, about eternity. Nothing so clearly as the pattern, not to say about the historical era, about the peculiarities gave rise to its culture, its relationship with the world.
During the lesson children got acquainted with the originality of the style of the Bulgarian-Tatar ornament in its picturesque interpretation, which is based on creative improvisation, flexibility of compositional constructions. Dumtsy learned how the elements of the ornament can be traced to different stages of the history of the Tatar people from ancient times.
